Questions
Do I need to be fit or have experience?
No. You do not need any martial arts experience or a certain level of fitness. Beginners are introduced to the principles and techniques step by step, and your fitness improves as you train.
Am I too old to start?
Jiu-jitsu is built on leverage and technique rather than strength or youth, and our adult classes welcome every level. Tell your coach about any injuries and you will train at a pace that suits you.
Can I watch a class first?
Yes. You are welcome to watch a class and see our teaching style, class structure and academy culture before you step on the mat.
How often should I train?
Everyone progresses differently, but training two or three times a week is a good start for most people.
What happens after the free class?
If you enjoyed it, talk to your coach. Membership options, including family discounts, are explained at the academy. No strings attached.
